The Jasmine Pearl welcomes its first-ever Japanese black tea—an exceptional blend of smooth Benifūki black tea and fragrant yuzu rind. This tea delivers a naturally sweet, ultra-smooth base balanced by the aromatic intensity and bright citrus of yuzu. A pleasant, pithy bitterness from the yuzu peel adds depth and contrast, echoing the way citrus zest enhances a dish. The result is a cup that’s both refreshing and layered, with a finish that lingers like sunlit citrus groves. Try it hot or iced for a unique Japanese tea experience.

Smooth and sweet with a silky mouthfeel and a citrusy, yuzu-forward finish. Very low astringency.

Ingredients

Japanese Black Tea (from the Benifuki cultivar), Yuzu Citrus Fruit Peel. Both ingredients grown by Konishi-san, a small tea farmer in Shizuoka, Japan.

Brewing Instructions

8 oz Cup

  1. Scoop a level teaspoon of tea into infuser.
  2. Heat water to 185° F.
  3. Pour 8 oz. of water over tea leaves.
  4. Steep tea for 3-5 minutes (depending on taste preference).
  5. Remove infuser and enjoy tea.

Potful

Simply add to your infuser one level teaspoon of leaf per 8 oz. of water and place it in your pot, then add the appropriate amount of 185° F water and let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the infuser and enjoy.

Brewing Iced Tea

Our opinion is that a cooled concentrate works best, as regular-strength brew tends to become watery as the ice melts. So, use the above leaf quantities, but half the water, allow it to cool, then pour it over ice and enjoy! The brew will dilute down to proper strength as the ice melts.
