Eiju is a delightfully well-balanced blend of the widely popular Yabukita and three other tea varietals. Throughout 2-3 infusions flavors gradually arc over buttery umami and vegetal asparagus to fruity apricots and a lingering bouquet, with soft astringency. Eiju, pronounced ‘AY-joo,’ mildly translates from Japanese to "forever happy."
The blend features Yabukita, Okuhikari, Shizuka 7132, and original Japanese varietals grown by Konishi-san, a small tea farmer from Kawanehon, Haibara Dist., Shizuoka Pref., Japan. Konishi-san uses only young tea shoots of the first flush, known as 'Mirume'.

8 oz Cup
- Scoop a level teaspoon of tea into infuser.
- Heat water to 175° F.
- Pour 8 oz. of water over tea leaves.
- Steep tea for 2-3 minutes (depending on taste preference).
- Remove infuser and enjoy tea. Can be steeped multiple times.
Simply add to your infuser one level teaspoon of leaf per 8 oz. of water and place it in your pot, then add the appropriate amount of 175° F water and let it steep for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove the infuser and enjoy. Can be steeped multiple times.
Brewing Iced Tea
As with some of our other extremely fine loose-leaf teas, we do not recommend drinking Eiju over ice. However, it is excellent when cold-brewed overnight in the refrigerator!
