Genmaicha – Japanese Green Tea with Toasted Rice
Genmaicha (pronounced gen-my-CHA) is a beloved Japanese green tea blend made with premium sencha and toasted rice. Sometimes affectionately called “popcorn tea” in the West, Genmaicha delivers a cozy, brothy brew with gentle nutty undertones and a satisfying, savory finish.
This batch features sencha from the Miyazaki prefecture on the southern island of Kyushu, Japan. The mellow, grassy richness of the tea pairs beautifully with the toasty, puffed rice to create a well-rounded cup that feels both nourishing and comforting. It's a great everyday tea and an excellent introduction to Japanese greens—especially for those new to green tea’s more vegetal flavors.
Enjoy hot for a cozy, savory experience or pour over ice for a refreshing, food-friendly iced tea.

Potful

Brewing Iced Tea
Our opinion is that a cooled concentrate works best, as regular-strength brew tends to become watery as the ice melts. So, use the above leaf quantities, but half the water, allow it to cool, then pour it over ice and enjoy! The brew will dilute down to proper strength as the ice melts.
