Kashmiri Chai – Floral Green Tea Chai

Unlike the bold black tea masala chai many people are familiar with, traditional Kashmiri chai is often made with green tea and prepared with milk for a softer, more delicate cup. Our interpretation takes inspiration from that style while adding a few touches of our own.

We start with hearty Gunpowder green tea and layer in cardamom, peppercorns, cloves, fragrant lavender, and a touch of natural amaretto flavor. The result is warming and aromatic, with gentle spice, floral lift, and a smooth almond-like sweetness that complements the green tea beautifully.

Delicious on its own, this blend is especially comforting simmered with milk and a little honey.

Flavor Profile

Smooth green tea with cardamom warmth, soft floral notes, and sweet almond-like depth.

Brewing Instructions

8 oz Cup

  1. Scoop a level teaspoon of tea into infuser.
  2. Heat water to 195° F (before boiling).
  3. Pour 8 oz. of water over tea leaves.
  4. Steep tea for 3-5 minutes (depending on taste preference). Can also be simmered in milk, then strained.
  5. Remove infuser and enjoy tea.

Potful

Simply add to your infuser one level teaspoon of leaf per 8 oz. of water and place it in your pot, then add the appropriate amount of 195° F water and let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the infuser and enjoy.

Brewing Iced Tea

Our opinion is that a cooled concentrate works best, as regular-strength brew tends to become watery as the ice melts. So, use the above leaf quantities, but half the water, allow it to cool, then pour it over ice and enjoy! The brew will dilute down to proper strength as the ice melts.
